Ian Byron Fawknotson

Ian Byron Fawknotson is the President of Resources Development and Implementation (RDI). A management consulting firm focusing on designing, developing and implementing conceptual models for business clients. He also currently serves as CEO of CitiValet Inc. a company he founded in 2005. Byron is Bahamian by birth. Prior to founding RDI he was employed as Senior Accountant with Fisk University.

In advance of his relocation to Nashville, Byron spent some 10 years as a banker in the Bahamas. He worked at notable banks including in the Advances department of Barclays Bank and as Assistant Manager Business Development with the Royal Bank of Scotland. His most recent banking foray was as Assistant Vice-President for AIBC Ventures which was the venture capital arm of American’s International Bank. A position he held until his decision to relocate to Nashville.

During the last 9 years Byron focused much of his efforts on what he calls “conceptual engineering” which is taking an idea and developing it into a workable business concept, creating a conceptual model for it and then designing and executing an implementation plan to see this idea realized. This is a service for which he is sought by his RDI clients. The most immediate example of this effort is he and RDI being retained by DelTech Bank a $10 billion company to reengineer its organizational and operational structure. Which included the redevelopment of workflow and process flows for its investment banking unit along with Managing Director and COO on redrafting of org- chart and mission and vision statements.

Byron is currently CEO of CitiValet a Concierge support services company that offers support to other business primarily in the area of executive transport, offsite parking, shuttling, small group transport and valet services. CitiValet Clients until recently and presently include, Meharry Medical College, Nashville Veterinary Specialist, J Dunn Construction, Messer Construction, Don Hardin and Associates, Alexus and Club Hotels, and SmileDirect Clubs.

He is a trained teacher having taught Economics and Office Procedures at secondary and post secondary levels for seven years. He is a published author and essayist.

He is married to Monica Fawknotson formally Clayton. The couple has two sons and a daughter.

Byron’s hobbies include political debates and essay and poetry writing as well as playing poker, photography, traveling, long drives and cooking.

His life’s motto: “… to engender in himself and others the spirit of total growth with balance and self-control”.
